(2) medium format SuperGlass™ flatteners in Epson V700 medium format holder
This is the product debut for a glass we have been working on formulated with a high profile german glass manufacturer for use in high quality scanners. The basic idea is that the glass is a perfect formulation for it's anti-newton ring properties as well as it's optical clarity. We start with a PRECISION glass blank which is flat to within one half the wavelength of green light and then is given a high frequency molded surface to prevent the formation of Newtons' rings without ANY possibility of refraction, interference or pattern being picked up by high resolution CCD scanning heads.
If you have an Epson V700 series scanner - these specially formulated glass blanks insert DIRECTLY into your existing Epson holder. NO wet mounting. No mess. See diagram below for explanation. The natural curve of the film is compressed by lowering the ANR face of this special glass directly onto it. No Newton's rings will appear. Our holder will keep your film flat to within one millimetre and easily inside the plane of ideal focus for your scanner (please note - in some cases you may need to raise the film holder itself on shims to find this idea plane - but it varies with each scanner). No longer will you ever have problems with focus.
Not at ALL! Simply remove the upper folding 'lid' of your existing Epson carrier (simply 'snaps' out) and place film in carrier and glass (with etched side down) on top of film, and you're done!
